The Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, will host a special 'Thank You' reception in honour of Team Kwara’s contingent to the National Sports Festival, tagged Gateway Games held in the Rock City, Ogun State, South-West, Nigeria.

The ceremony will take place on Friday, the 18th of this month in the state capital, Ilorin.

This heart warming news was made public Tuesday by Mallam Bolakale Adisa Mogaji, the Executive Chairman, Kwara State Sports Commission (KSSC).

FIRST ZEALMEDIACAST BLOG understands that all medalists who proudly represented the state will be specially rewarded by the Governor in appreciation for their outstanding performance and dedication.

Kwara State contingent to Ogun State for the 22nd National Sports Festival tagged Gateway Games returned to Ilorin with 29 medals, 6 gold, 11 silver and 12 bronze medals.

We gathered that His Excellency governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has concluded plans to pay all the long-standing sign-on fee debts owed to the players and staff of Kwara United Football Club, which were inherited from previous administrations. 

The Executive Chairman, of Kwara State Sports Commission (KSSC), Bolakale Adisa Mogaji, explained that this bold step underscores the Governor’s unwavering commitment to sports development, athlete welfare, and institutional accountability in Kwara State.

This momentous occasion marks another giant and intrepid step in the Governor’s continuous efforts to reposition sports as a tool for unity, youth engagement, and socio-economic development.

It is noteworthy to state that Kwara State under the stewardship of His Excellency Governor Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq, has been enjoying tremendous success in sports, the recent being the victory of Kwara United Football Club in the Federation President Cup.

The State government rewarded the players and officials of the victorious Kwara United Football Club with cash and land as a token of appreciation for bringing the laurel and honour to the State.
