Justice has been served in a shocking case that has sent a strong message across Cote D'Ivoire

Former Cote D'Ivoire international Aboulaye Traore has been sentenced to 3 years in prison after being found guilty of rape. The Bouaké court also ordered him to pay 15 million CFA francs to the victim and banned him from appearing in the central region for 5 years.

The Ivorian League for Women’s Rights says this ruling is a major step in the fight against impunity for sexual and gender-based violence.

This is bigger than football. It is about accountability, justice, and protecting victims.
